How wonderful it was for me to meet the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama, who is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people works to preserve the Buddhist Tradition of peace and nonviolence. He is admired for promoting basic human values and ethics with the goal of alleviating human suffering and creating happiness. I think something very important can be learned from the Dalia Lama, whether you adhere to the principles of his Lamaist Buddhist tradition or not. By approaching life from a center of equanimity, rather than by being overrun and tossed about by all of life’s challenges, we will be more able to remain resilient and resourceful, and overcome many of life’s challenges and move further toward a fulfilling and happier life. Through hypnotherapy we can create genuine self-esteem and self-confidence to generate greater resilience and resourcefulness, so that we are less reactive to life’s uncertainties, and can remain centered and can choose the life we want in the face of any challenge.
Dr. Daniel Brown who has taught hypnotherapy for almost 40 years and whose books on hypnosis include the standard textbook on clinical hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis (with E. Fromm), Hypnosis and Behavioral Medicine (with E. Fromm), and Creative Mastery in Hypnosis and Hypnoanalysis, wrote collaborated in writing two books with the Dalai Lama.
